Volunteering Ireland and Southeastern European Youth Network are hosting a week long volunteer management training course in Krusevac, Serbia, involving 40 participants from Southeast European (SEE) and EU countries.
Topic: "Innovations in Management of Volunteering Services through European Cooperation and EVS Promotion”.
It is a learning event to build high-standard competences of volunteer management to local, national and/or European level volunteer services (with special focus on EVS) within the SEE and EU, and enhancing visibility of those services in order to engage and involve young people who are geographically, socially, economically, culturally and physically challenged.
Through training, idea sharing, and practical application activities, the aim is to prepare volunteer managers to return to their organisations ready to disseminate and apply what they have learned in the training course. This is part of a broader mission to help promote development and promotion of civic participation and voluntary activity as part of an international community of volunteer management practice and expertise.
There will be sessions presented by influential and experienced individuals and organisations in the field of volunteering, such as SALTO SEE RC, Voluntary Service Overseas, SPES (Italy), Mr. Karl Monsen-Elvik (Scotland), and SEEYN experts. Where: Krusevac, Serbia
Lodging and board are completely covered by the hosting organisations;

WebActivate your organisation and contribute to Ireland's digital economy
Irish SMEs and those looking to work in the digital industry are encouraged to join the the Web Activate Programme - a free, collaborative and innovative initiative to give Irish SMEs and other small organisations a web presence.
Program participants exercise their web skills by being placed with organisations seeking to build a web presence.
The programme will serve small to medium businesses in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway who currently have no web presence, or need to upgrade their existing web presence. There are no fees or charges for the SMEs during the ‘structured work placement’ phase of the programme.

WebActivate is an innovative programme designed by Digital Skills Academy and delivered in partnership with the Digital Hub, the Chambers of Commerce and leading Further Education Colleges in the participating cities. Volunteers sought for Senior Helpline
The Third Age welcomes volunteers as promoters, fund-raisers and within one of our expanding number of national programmes.
Senior Help Line is a confidential listening service for older people, offered by trained older volunteers, for the price of a local call anywhere in Ireland. Senior Help Line has 14 centres throughout Ireland. To use the service, call LoCall 1850 440 444.
The Third Age is a voluntary community organisation which contributes to local communities by harnessing the positive resource its older people represent, and offering activities and services for older people within a wide catchment area. The Third Age develops and manages a number of local and national programmes, including Senior Help Line and The Fáilte Isteach programme.

Student Debate adjudicator training sessions open
The Concern Debates are Concern Worldwide’s flagship schools activity. It gives students the opportunity to research and debate issues that affect those living in the developing world.
Adjudicators are needed to preside over these formal debates, and training sessions are running from August to October, throughout the country.

Conversational language tutoring for Cabra area new migrants

The Fáilte Isteach programme, in association with Tolka Area Partnership, is pioneering a language project to teach conversational English to new migrants in their communities.
Volunteers are needed for tutoring in an effort to help establish centres in Cabra.
The Fáilte Isteach programme- started in 2006 in Summerhill, Co. Meath - is already operating successfully in 22 centres around the country. They are student-focused and lessons are delivered in a way that is welcoming, inclusive and practical in nature. All levels of English proficiency are provided for and the courses are offered free of charge.
The programme began with the help of Third Age Foundation, "as a community project with older volunteers welcoming new migrants through conversational English classes", according to the Third Age Foundation website.

Volunteering Ireland are currently accepting applications for the position of intern within the office of the CEO. Based at the National Office of Volunteering Ireland in Temple Bar this internship offers the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to all aspects of Volunteering Ireland’s work. 

The Summer Workshops are back!
The Dublin City North Volunteer Centre is organizing its third series of workshops aimed at volunteer involving organizations.
If you work for a ‘volunteer overseas sending’ organisation or co-ordinate volunteers in a local programme in the Dublin City North area, then these workshops are for you!
These FREE workshops target local volunteer involving organisations and cover a wide range of topics, from the National Day of Volunteering to volunteer management training.
The overall aim of these information workshops is to provide a platform where volunteer involving organisations from across the Dublin City North area can:
• meet and exchange information
• hear about other Volunteer programme experiences
• discuss a wide range of topics
• get to know the team in the Dublin City North Volunteer Centre
• find out more about what your local volunteer centre can do for you
• ask about support in solving problems

Radharc Trust seeks volunteer to help
The Radharc Trust is an independent charitable organisation promoting Christian and positive human values in the media. It manages the Radharc Film Archive of over 400 documentaries previously shown on RTE between 1961 and 1997.
Currently the Radharc Trust has a vacancy for a volunteer to help organise the Radharc Awards (Oct 21st) for similar challenging films. Volunteering to help with this event offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in the areas of event management and PR within a media setting. Previous experience with events is a requirement. The work will be part time in the beginning, rising to full time as the Awards date approaches.
